Basic American
Marinara Sauce
This is a
basic Marinara made in the American style for more tips and information on this

3 cups Onions finely chopped
3 cloves Garlic minced
3Tbs Basil minced
½ cup Water
2 Tbs Olive Oil
Heat Olive
Oil in a large saucepan over a medium heat. Sautee Onions until translucent (do
not brown) then add Garlic and stir for 1 minute. Pour in water to deglaze the
pan then stir in Tomatoes and Basil. Bring to a boil and cook for approximately
45 minutes stirring frequently to avoid scorching.
HINT: As
sauces thicken lower your heat slightly. This helps avoid them sticking and
scorching.
