Devilled Cashews

Devilled Cashews

One of my best nut recipes, it works well as a snack or as pulutan (drinking food) it is a wonderful match for your favorite beer but is equally at home with brandy. It is an easy to adapt recipe having only three main ingredients and can be fixed in minutes.

8 oz Cashew Nuts (roasted or raw)

½-1 tsp Cayenne Pepper ground

Sprinkle of Salt (optional)

3 Tbs Oil (peanut works best due to its light flavor)

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat; add nuts and stir to heat thru (if roasted) or Sautee until very lightly browned (if raw); remove from heat and drain oil. Oil can be saved for reuse and will now have a nice lightly nutty flavor. Sprinkle with Cayenne and salt to taste; stir to coat nuts evenly drain on paper towels. EAT

Preparation time: 5-10 minutes
