I Love Nuts & Seeds
I love nuts
and seeds. Delicious and from a nutritional standpoint, they are some of the best
foods you can eat. Easy to carry around
for a quick snack, nuts and seeds are very feeling and they give an energy
boost that last.
If you look
at nuts and seeds from logical perspective, it’s not surprising that they are
so healthy. Technically nuts or seeds are plant embryos, designed by nature,
with everything contained within them to sustain their growth until roots and
leaves can develop and the plants can survive from their surroundings. Here are
a few nutty facts for you.
Though nuts
and seeds may be high in fat it is generally of the monounsaturated type, not
the saturated fats we have all learned to fear. Some research has even found
that a diet rich in nuts and seeds may aid in weight loss. They are high in the
minerals potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, calcium, sodium, manganese,
zinc, copper and selenium. They are also a good source of vitamins C, B1, B2,
B6, A, K, E, and Niacin, Folate and Pantothanic Acid as well as many trace
elements. They almost sound like multivitamins, don’t they, and they taste much
better. Still nuts and seeds go one better being one of nature’s best sources
of both protein and natural fiber.
Whether you
eat them raw, cooked, alone or added to your favorite recipes nuts and seeds
are healthy, nutritious and delicious so give them a try today. Have a look at
my new “Nuts and Seeds” page for some new ideas.
